Description
Professor “Tobie” Weist earned her Ph.D. in 1970 from the University of California, Berkeley. A sociocultural anthropologist, she has conducted field research in Korea and Africa and extensive research among the Native Americans of the northern Great Plains. Her research interests include anthropological theory, ethnohistory, development issues, and gender. She continues to serve the University of Montana and the world with an impressive array of volunteer activities.
