Official Dates, Deadlines and Events for Autumn Semester 2009
August
- Aug. 31 Autumn 2009 Classes Begin
September
- Sept. 7 Holiday: Labor Day --No classes. UM offices are closed.
- Sept. 9 Last Day to Pay or Finalize Autumn 2009 Registration Bill Without a Late Fee --Last day to pay/finalize Autumn 2009 registration bill if paying in person in Griz Central by 4:30 pm, or by midnight if paying on-line through CyberBear, to avoid a $40 late fee.
- Sept. 10 Autumn 2009 $40 Late Fee Begins --All new Autumn 2009 registrations will be assessed a $40 late fee.
- Sept. 16 Last Day to Submit Financial Aid Appeals for Autumn 2009 --Submit appeal forms to the Financial Aid Counter, Griz Central, Lommasson Center.
- Sept. 21 Last Day to Use CyberBear for Autumn 2009 Registration and Course Changes --Last day to drop/add Autumn 2009 courses, change variable credit, or change grade options via CyberBear.
- Sept. 21 Last Day to Submit Override Forms --Last day to submit override forms for registration in Autumn 2009 courses.
- Sept. 21 Last Day to Withdraw from Autumn 2009 with a Partial Refund --Last day for students to withdraw from all Autumn 2009 courses with a partial refund.
- Sept. 21 Last Day to Change Grade Option to Audit --Last day to change grade option to Audit for an Autumn 2009 course or courses. Courses taken for Audit do not earn college credit or impact grade point average.
- Sept. 21 Last Day to Submit Residency Petition for Reclassification to In-State Status --For residency information, contact the Registrar’s Office in the Lommasson Center.
- Sept. 22 Paper Form Used to Drop/Add Courses, Change Grade Option, Variable Credits and Sections --Paper form used to change students’ registration from Sept. 22 through the 45th day of classes, Nov. 2, 2009.
October
- Oct. 5 Spring 2010 Graduation Applications Due in Registrar’s Office --Students intending to graduate in May, 2010 turn in department approved graduation papers to Registrar’s Office. A $30 application fee is assessed. Applications should be submitted for department approval 3 – 14 days in advance.
- Oct. 6 Second Deferred Payment for Autumn 2009 Due
- Oct. 19 Advising Begins for Spring 2010 --Beginning of the three weeks of Priority Advising and Registration for Spring 2010.
- Oct. 21 First Day to Apply for Spring 2010 Deferred Payment Plan
- Oct. 21 Registration Begins for Spring 2010 at The UM-College of Technology
- Oct. 26 Registration Begins for Spring 2010 for All Other UM Students --Spring 2010 priority registration runs according to an alphabetical schedule from October 26 through November 6, 2009.
November
- Nov. 2 Last Day to Use Drop/Add Form to Change Autumn 2009 Registration
- Nov. 3 Petition Form Required to Change Autumn 2009 Registration --Change to students’ registration requires Petition to Change Registration form, with Dean’s signature required. A $10 charge is assessed per drop and per add. Grades appear on transcripts as WP, withdraw passing, or WF, withdraw failing. Grades do not impact GPA.
- Nov. 6 Third Deferred Payment for Autumn 2009 Due.
- Nov. 11 Holiday: Veteran’s Day --UM offices closed. No classes.
- Nov. 25 Thanksgiving Vacation Begins: Travel Day for Students --UM offices open for business. No classes.
- Nov. 26-27 Holiday: Thanksgiving --UM offices closed. No classes.
- Nov. 30 Spring 2010 Registration Bills Available --Student bills for Spring 2010 available for fee payment or finalization. Registration is viewed on CyberBear.
December
- Dec. 4 Last Day to Withdraw from All Courses for Autumn 2009 --Withdrawal forms and process available in Griz Central, Registration Counter in the Lommasson Center.
- Dec. 11 Last Day to Petition to Change Autumn 2009 Course Registration
- Dec. 11 Last Day of Classes for Autumn 2009
- Dec. 12-13 Study Days
- Dec. 14-18 Final Examinations for Autumn 2009
- Dec. 25 Holiday: Christmas --UM offices closed.
