Undergraduate Student Lydia Cotton
Lydia Cotton
Current intern in Date, Hokkaido
The Japanese Section sends one student each year to Date city in Hokkaido on a one-year paid internship. Our intern this year is Lydia Cotton. She is teaching elementary and middle-school students and supporting the Date city Board of Education.
Here is her account of her experience abroad this year:
"It has been an incredible experience living and working abroad in Japan. I have had the opportunity to experience first hand many of the wonders of the Japanese culture and the character of its people. If I have learned one thing it is that stepping outside of your comfort zone is the best way to grow and learn about yourself and the world."
