Head of Class
Sierra Howlett, of Arlee, Montana, who is a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, was selected for her commitment to tribal policy and health care. She is a senior in Sociology and is committed to working with the tribes in the future on what she considers the biggest challenge: “Trying to retain everything from the past, our traditional ways, culture and values and still maintain our status and economic stability without giving up everything that makes us a strong tribe.”
