Description:
Established by H.G. Merriam, Professor Emeritus of English, the Merriam-Frontier Award recognizes distinguished achievement in student writing. The award consists of a prize of $500 and funds to publish a chapbook of the winning entry. Open to both graduates and undergraduates of The University of Montana, entries are called for in fall semester and judged by a committee of local writers. The student selected for the award will read from his or her winning manuscript.
