Dr. Jonathon Tompkins received a PhD in political science from the University of Washington in 1981, and shortly thereafter joined the Political Science faculty at The University of Montana. His primary teaching and research interests have centered on human resource management, strategic planning, and management theory. He served as director of the Master of Public Administration program for 24 years and department chairman for 11 years before joining Dean Fetz's team as an associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences. His duties include helping students who have encountered academic difficulties and assisting Dean Fetz oversee and support the academic programs housed in the College.
