Mathematics Scholarships

Undergraduate Math Scholars Program

Criteria: The purpose of the Undergraduate Math Scholars Program is to provide stipends for teaching assistants and tutors in the undergraduate math program.  The teaching assistants and tutors must be upper division undergraduate math majors who will assist other undergraduate math majors and math faculty.  The teaching assistants and tutors will be selected on the basis of academic achievement.

George and Dorothy Bryan Endowment

Total Budget for Scholarships Given: Approximately $13,000

Criteria: The purpose of the George and Dorothy Bryan Endowment is to provide support for the Undergraduate Math Scholars Program, student programs and activities and a resource room.

Examples of eligible activities and programs include:

  • Undergraduate Math Scholars Program
  • Student Mathematics Club;
  • Teaching Assistants for Math 107 to assist with group  projects;
  • Summer Research Scholars;
  • Undergraduate Technical Communication Scholarships, and
  • Graduate program enhancements.

Mac Johnson Family Endowment

Criteria: Math major at The University of Montana who is an undergraduate student.  One or more scholarships may be given annually.

Ernest R. and Josephine (Buergey) Anderson Mathematics Scholarship

Criteria: Deserving students based on academic achievement who are pursuing a degree in Mathematical Sciences. Students will be selected by the Department of Mathematical Sciences Scholarship Selection Committee.
