Department Scholarships

Chemistry General Scholarship  The purpose of this scholarship is to receive and award gifts designated for chemistry scholarships that may not meet the minimum needed to set up separate named scholarship funds. Gifts will be administered in accordance with the UM Foundation disbursement guidelines.

Louis F. Kinney Chemistry Scholarship This fund provides scholarships to senior students majoring in chemistry who are Montana residents from communities with populations of fewer than 10,000 residents.

Leland M. Yates Outstanding Teaching Assistant  This fund provides an award to a graduate teaching assistant in the Department of Chemistry who has been particularly attentive to other students he/she is assisting. A graduate student may only be recognized with this award once.

Dr. Richard H. Jesse Family Scholarship  The purpose of this scholarship is to provide an annual award to a chemistry student who has demonstrated academic excellence in the previous year as a declared chemistry major. The recipient must be a Montana resident.

Jon D. Sullivan Chemistry Scholarship  The purpose of this scholarship is to provide an annual award to promising chemistry students who have completed their sophomore year and are beginning their junior year.

Stanley R. Ames Memorial Scholarship  The purpose of this scholarship is to provide an annual award to a graduate student majoring in chemistry.

William P. Cahill Memorial Scholarship  The purpose of this scholarship is to provide an annual award to a student with sophomore or above standing. The recipient must be dedicated to chemistry. High academic standards, scholastic standing, and financial need are considered.

Lola Walsh Anacker Scholarship  The purpose of this scholarship is to provide an annual award to a female graduate student in chemistry.

Philip and Sandra Barney Scholarship  This fund is used to provide scholarships for deserving undergraduate students who are studying chemistry, with preference for Montana residents and for students with a pre-medical science emphasis.
