DIY Home Energy Audit Workshop. WHEN: Nov. 7. 1:00pm. WHERE: MUD,629 Phillips, Msl. Join Jonathan Ballew of Pure Energy Audits, and explore the basics of auditing your home's energy efficiency. Identify which appliances suck energy, which should be left plugged in, where cold air is sneaking in, and more. Workshop focuses on two houses at MUD, giving participants a hands-on experience. Discussion will focus on your home energy issues, and will send you home with ideas, tools, and confidence to increase the energy efficiency of your home.

Leave No Trace Trainer Course (www.lnt.org) sponsored by the Montana Wilderness Association and REI. Learn about low-impact hiking and camping techniques; practice teaching the seven principles of Leave No Trace. We will spend most of our time in the Rattlesnake Wilderness and participants will receive a certificate verifying their completion of a Trainer Course. Course materials are provided, and equipment is available from REI free of charge. The historic Moon-Randolph Homestead, part of Missoula’s Open Space System, is open Saturdays from 11 am-5 pm, from May through October (fire danger and weather permitting). Visitors can picnic in the apple orchard, check out funky artifacts, take an historic tour or nap under the trees.

Explore the Sapphire & Blue Joint Wilderness Study Areas in the
Bitterroot National Forest and contribute to the conservation of this
unique area. Volunteers will work with experienced leaders to map and
monitor weeds and wilderness character, and inventory campsites.
Join us for 3-5 day backpacking trips and help conserve these unique
Wilderness Study Areas. Learn about invasive species, native
plants, monitoring methods, and the natural history of the Sapphire and
Blue Joint Areas. Backcountry experience is helpful but not
necessary. Dinners are provided and transportation is available from

Volunteer for Veggies with Garden City Harvest.
Help with planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting at a garden near
you. Bring a sun hat, sunblock, water and your love of veggies &
dirt. Garden organizers, locations, work times & days are here.
Please call your garden organizer before coming the first time. Gardens
are at: River Road, Orchard Gardens, Meadow Hill School, at 2nd &
Inez Streets, on Northside near baseball fields (Cooley & Holmes,
St) and near UM student housing.
