Discover the world in one program!
Welcome to the home page for the International Field Geosciences degree program at The University of Montana!
This one-of-a-kind program provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to discover the world by pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree that is offered in collaboration with two partner universities in Europe. US students seeking the degree are required to participate in a year-long study-abroad program either at the University of Potsdam in Germany or at University College Cork in Ireland.
EU students from both Potsdam and Cork also can pursue the degree, and these students are required to participate in a similar year-long study-abroad program at The University of Montana. Financial scholarships, awarded on a competitive basis, currently are available to UM students through UM Geoscience Department and to EU students at Potsdam and Cork through their respective universities.
For UM students, the funding for these scholarships comes from the Fund for Improvement of Post-secondary Education and currently are in the amount of $12,000 per student. For students from the University of Potsdam and University College Cork, equivalent scholarship funding comes from the EU Directorate General for Education and Culture.
