    • Identification: Variety of chicken and grouse bones, including examples of the humerus (arm) and femur (leg). The Chinese miners at German Gulch ate a wide variety of animals, including fowl. Chickens and grouse make up the bulk of animals consumed, which illustrates that the Chinese both raised domestic animals but also hunted in the woods surrounding German Gulch.
