The Conference on Charlotte Perkins Gilman occurs every four to five years, organized by members of the Charlotte Perkins Gilman Society. Previous conferences have been held in Liverpool, England; Columbia, South Carolina; Saratoga Springs, New York; and Biddeford, Maine. Capitalizing on this year's western location, we've given the conference a western theme: Gilman Goes West. Papers are welcome on any aspect of Gilman's life and/or work (see the Call for Papers), but our highlighted events (keynote address, plenary session, library displays, and readings by local writers) will seek to focus our attention on the West and Gilman's relation to it. We hope you'll join us at the University of Montana in Missoula.
Thanks to our sponsors. From the University of Montana: the College of Arts and Sciences, Spectral Fusion, the Mansfield Library, the Department of English, the Office of Research and Development and the Women and Gender Studies Program. From the Missoula community: Fact & Fiction, Missoulian Angler and the Double Tree hotel. Finally, many thanks to the Charlotte Perkins Gilman Society and the AAUW-Montana.
