Biography
|
George
M. Dennison received the B.A. (with Highest Honors)
and M.A. in History from The University of Montana in
1962 and 1963, respectively, and the Ph.D. in History
from The University of Washington in 1967, with a specialization
in American Legal and Constitutional History. He has
taught at the University of Arkansas, University of
Washington, Colorado State University, Western Mihciagn
University and The University of Montana. In 1976, his
book on the Dorr Rebellion in Rhode Island in 1842 was
runner-up in the Frederick Jackson Turner contest sponsored
by the Organization of American Historians. He has published
several historical articles in a number of journals,
most of which focus on legal and constitutional issues.
He has served as President of The University of Montana
since August 1990.
