Graduate Scholarships

For an outstanding graduate student in European History
The annual deadline for the application to the graduate program and for the fellowship is March 1.

The fellowship in the amount of $3,000 is to be awarded to a graduate student who displays academic merit and who, in the opinion of the selection committee, is the most promising graduate student in the field of European history at The University of Montana. The fellowship, in memory of Rufus and Janet Ingersoll, who were students at the University of Montana, was endowed by their daughter, Helen Ingersoll Cappadocia, and her husband, Ezio Cappadocia, Professor of European history (ret), McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario.

The University of Montana offers a strong masters program. In recent years students have gone on to Ph.D. programs at Yale, Stanford, Rochester, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Texas. Others have taken jobs at community colleges, junior colleges, private secondary schools, as well as in government and public history.
