About Liberal Studies

The Liberal Studies Bachelor of Arts Program offers students the opportunity to work in a combination of disciplines in the humanities, including literature, philosophy, art, foreign languages, history, and social sciences. The interdisciplinary coursework, while allowing plenty of room for elective areas of interest, has its primary focus in the study of human relations between and among individuals and communities. The Liberal Studies program maintains a committment to the traditional "liberal" education that promotes and cultivates freedom from ignorance and intolerance. Through a broad liberal arts curriculum students gain the knowledge and develop the skills that lead to an intelligent, thoughtful, and responsible way of life.
