Since fall 2011, Multicultural Learning Solutions (MLS) is a division of International Programs (IP) at the International Center. See article in Expanding Horizons. For the past nine years, MLS has provided professional global competence courses, workshops and seminars at The University of Montana. MLS training reduces ethnocentric attitudes, while simultaneously increasing multicultural awareness and global mindedness.
MLS cultural and global competence courses were first developed and offered in 2004 by Dr. Udo Fluck, to accommodate the challenge of today´s changing workplace, which demands international and multicultural knowledge and skills. Academic courses as well as global competence courses, workshops and seminars taught by Dr. Fluck, have had a phenomenal growth during recent years.
MLS, a unique, interactive instructional approach to multicultural learning, is utilized to train students, faculty, administrators, and staff to become more internationally minded and multiculturally competent in today´s global world. MLS was also featured in an article in Research View, published by the Office of the Vice President for Research and Development at The University of Montana.
MLS remains highly interdisciplinary with courses and presentations offered across campus in various academic and service departments. Your visit today is a perfect opportunity to find out more about the various contributions in teaching, research and service that Multicultural Learning Solutions provides.
