Employee Training

The Multicultural Learning Solutions (MLS) workshop: Multicultural Sensitivity & Competence at the Workplace, offers participants a foundation in awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to increase effectiveness and efficiency in a diverse workplace, such as in institutions of higher education.  It is offered and sponsored through the Human Resources Services at The University of Montana.

MLS employee trainings and seminars present a wide range of interesting and relevant topics that help build viable global communication and multicultural competence skills.

MLS provides effective and enjoyable professional trainings to become more global minded and, in the process, gain valuable multicultural skills, an important competence to have in today’s international and multicultural work environments.

MLS recognizes that the population at the University of Montana is composed of people from diverse ethnic and cultural areas within the United States and foreign countries.  There are over 500 international students currently enrolled at this institution.  They come from more than 60 different countries.  Many of these individuals interact with American university employees, like you, and fellow students on a daily basis.  Therefore, sensitivity and understanding regarding the many cultural differences that can cause communication challenges here on campus, seems to be important competences worth strengthening.

MLS caters to today’s changing workplace demographics which demands recognition of the need for professional multicultural knowledge and skill development in institutions of higher education.  Multicultural awareness and competence at employment locations improves effectiveness and efficiency on various levels.
