MLS Workshops for UM Employees


Multicultural Learning Solutions (MLS) training programs for employees at The University of Montana, are offered at the Missoula campus, the Montana Tech campus in Butte, and in the Missoula community. MLS workshops are based on years of research and experience in academia and human resources and are largely based on Howard Gardner’s studies on multiple intelligences.

Professional MLS workshops at UM are offered through Human Resource Services Career Development Program (CDP). These workshops are specifically designed for UM's staff, administrators and faculty.

MLS Instructional Methods consist of:

  • Traditional and PowerPoint enhanced components
  • Interactive discussions and simulations
  • Individual and group exercises

MLS Workshop Topics:

Cross-Cultural Training for African Managers, APM Terminals Intensive Management and Executive Management Training for African Managers, two full-day workshops as instructor for the World Trade Education Institute, School of Business Administration, The University of Montana, July 21 and 22, 2008.

Cross-Cultural Differences in the Workplace – Training for Missoula City Employees, Supervisor Training for Missoula City Employees, three-hour interactive training with PowerPoint presentation, February 14, May 29 and June 12, 2008.

Cultural & Global Competence - Tools for Success in Today’s Global World, Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (ROTC), two   50-minute PowerPoint presentations for Military Science 101 course, October, 29 and 30th 2007.

Cross-Cultural Training for Chinese Managers, APM Terminals Intensive Management and Executive Management, Training for Chinese Managers, two full-day workshops as instructor for the World Trade Education Institute, School of Business Administration, UM, August 2 and 3, 2007.
