Native American Student Scholarships

The University of Montana’s Native American Studies Department is dedicated to promoting high academic achievement among Native American students and assisting them with reaching their educational goals. To uphold this objective, scholarships are awarded each year to undergraduate and graduate students in various University of Montana-Missoula and Missoula College majors. Scholarship funds are limited and the selection process is competitive. All Native American students admitted to The University of Montana are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility
- Native American students who plan on enrolling or be admitted the The University on Montana or Missoula College the next year
- Students are required to entroll full-time each semester (12 undergraduate credits or 9 graduate credits)
- Students must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 grade point average (GPA)
- New and transfer students are encouraged to complete the new Student Orientation process
Application Information
Please carefully read through the online application before you begin completing the scholarship application.
Only one application needs to be submitted, the scholarship committee matches qualified applicants with the appropriate scholarship (see Scholarship Descriptions for more information).
You will NOT be able to save the online application so it is recommended that you have all required documents saved BEFORE beginning the application.
DEADLINE: Applications must be submitted online by 5:00p.m. on MARCH 1st
Application Requirements
- One (1) page, single spaced essay
- Essay topic to be announced Winter of 2013
- Letter of Recommendation: One (1) letter should come from a non-relative who can comment on your academic abilities and accomplishments. The letter should be current and written within the last year.
