UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA'S - DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY

Minor in Sociology

There are many disciplines and fields that work well with a minor in Sociology. To earn a minor, students must complete a minimum of 21 credits in Sociology courses. At least 9 of those credits must be in upper-division courses.

Students minoring in Sociology are required to take:

  • SOCI 101 (Introduction to Sociology)
  • SOCI 318 (Sociological Research Methods)
  • SOCI 455 (Classical Sociological Theory)
  • 2 courses (6 credits) identified as Major Content courses in Sociology
  • 6 credits of Sociology electives
